    • Girls Basketball District 14 Runner-up

  • South Side High School
    • The volleyball team finished with a 38 - 6 record, claiming the regular season, district and regional championship.
    • Kayla Merriweather named to the All State team, and was the district player of the year.
  • Jackson Christian School
    • Football team 1A State Champions
    • Baseball team won District Championship, Regional Runner-up
    • Brett Barry qualified for regional and state tournaments in golf
    • Men’s 4 x 800 relay team won the region and finished second in the state meet
    • The men’s basketball team was District 15A runner-up
    • Coed cheer team won the TSSAA State Championship, and third place in the UCA Nationals
    • Elizabeth Austin was District Runner up in girls single tennis
    • Girls soccer was runner up in both district and regional action, earning a berth to the state tournament

Sports Hall of Fame College Highlights

  • Union University
    • Men’s golf won the TransSouth Championship and advanced to the NAIA Region XI Tournament
    • All five of the fall sports teams advanced to the NAIA Region Tournament in the fall of
      2006. Women’s soccer advanced to the semifinals of the conference tournament, Men’s soccer, volleyball, and men’s and women's cross country posted wins n region tournaments.
    • Women's cross country earned a bid to the NAIA National Tournament.
    • Union Lady Bulldog basketball team was named Tennessee Sports Hall of Fame Amateur
    • Team of the Year for the second year in a row.
  • Lane College
    • The Lane College Dragon football team finished 8-3, it’s best record since 1995. They
      ranked first in SIAC in total offense, with 342.1 yards averaged a game, and 25.9 PT/GM; first top 25 ever AFCA Poll; Top 10 finish all HBCV’s. Jacoby Jones, Marcus Moore, and Edward Williams were all named All-American. Johnnie Cole was named SIAC Coach of the Year.

    • Women’s Basketball –TranSouth Conference First Team All Conference Reggie Maddox, Meghan Fuqua
    • NAIA National Champions
    • NAIA Tournament MVP Reggie Maddox
