Jackson-Madison County Sports Hall of Fame Announces New Scholarships (Tuesday, January 4, 2005)
The Jackson-Madison County Sports Hall of Fame is announcing, for the first time, the giving of scholarships to students entering an accredited academic associate or baccalaureate degree college or university in Fall 2005. Specific criteria are:
- Be graduating from a Jackson-Madison County public or private high school the year for which application is made
- Be an incoming freshman enrolled as a full time student at an accredited academic associate or baccalaureate degree college or university
- Be an resident of Jackson-Madison County
- Be a student athlete in a sanctioned TSSAA (or its successor) sport or participated in related athletic activity (such as but not limited to trainer, manager).
All scholarships will be granted for a one-year period only. Scholarships are designed to benefit students who do not have other financial resources for college.
Students having full academic scholarships or a combination of scholarships that result in full payment of college expenses will not be eligible for the Jackson-Madison County Sports Hall of Fame Scholarship
Scholarships shall not exceed the amount of $1,000.
Payment must be made to the school.
