Jill
Konkol has been a big part of the success of
Union Cross Country team. She
has been the Tran South Freshman of the Year, and
was Tran South Runner of the Year as a senior. She
is a four time all TranSouth, and a three time All
Regional runner. This past year she won both the
TranSouth and the Region XI regional individual
championships. |
Male
Athlete of the Year from Union is Zach Lowery.
He has been a four year starter for the Union
baseball team. As a junior, he was named to the
TranSouth All Conference team. He has played in 138
games for the Bulldogs, starting in 131 of them...His
Career batting average is .326 with 124 hits and 94
RBI's. As a
catcher, he has thrown out almost 40% of would be
bases stealers. |
The
JSCC Generals have Whitney Taylor
representing them as their female athlete
of the year. Whitney is a sophomore competing on the
softball team. While a freshman last year, she
started and completed every game, as well as stole
at least
one base in each game she played. Her batting
average for the year last year was
.333. Whitney has a GPA of 3.417 and majors in
education. |
Thom
Hunter Pratt is the male athlete of the year
from Jackson State. Thom Hunter is a baseball
player, appearing in 17 games for the generals last
year, as a pitcher, he threw 71 innings, striking
out 45 while walking only 20 batters. He is highly
recruited as a sophomore, and has received several
offers for the 07-08 baseball seasons. |
Volleyball
player Carman Campbell is the female
athlete of the year for the Lambuth Eagles. She has
been team captain for the past three seasons. She
has made the all conference team the past three
years. Carman has been named to the Mid-
South Conference team twice and the All TranSouth
Team once. She has also
been named to the academic all conference team. |
Brenton
Saylor is selected as the Lambuth University
male athlete of the year. Brenton is the leading
scorer for the 2006 Eagles soccer team, and made the
academic all MidSouth Conference team in 2005 and
2006. He is a junior and carries a 3.02 GPA. |
Lane
College Female Athlete of the Year is Stephanie
Reed. Stepahanie is a senior
from Jonesboro, AR. She represents the basketball
team. During her career, she
averaged 8.3 points, 4.5 rebounds, .5 assists, 1.4
steals, and .5 blocks per game. She played in 28
games and started 11 of them.

Jacoby
R. Jones is a senior from New Orleans. During
his career, he played in two
2007 All-star Games. He was ranked 5th nationally
among NCAA Division II for
all purpose yards. 2006 SIAC MVP, Offensive Player
of the Year. Jacoby was named Player of the Week
several times in his career, and was first team
All-Conference Wide Receiver and punt returner. He
is co-holder of the 2006 BCSP Offensive Player of
the Year. |
